Size guide

As our jewellery consists of one-of-a-kind pieces, each exists in a single size. Here is how to find yours before ordering — and what we can do if it is not quite right.

Important: our rings are one of a kind.
Unlike a jeweller who produces each model in several sizes, we have only one example of each ring, in the size the craftsman made it. The size is given on every product page. Check it before ordering.

Measuring a finger without a ring sizer

The most reliable method at home is to measure a ring you already wear.

  1. Choose a ring you wear on the finger concerned — the same ring does not fit the right hand and the left.
  2. Place it on a ruler and measure its inside diameter, in millimetres, at its widest.
  3. Multiply that diameter by 3.14. The result is your French size.

Example: an inside diameter of 17 mm gives 17 × 3.14 = 53.4, that is size 53.

French and European sizes are simply the inside circumference of the ring in millimetres. There is no code to decipher: size 53 means 53 mm around.

Measuring the finger directly

If you have no ring to go by:

  1. Wrap a strip of paper 5 mm wide around the base of the finger, without tightening.
  2. Mark where it overlaps with a pen, then unfold it and measure the length in millimetres.
  3. That length is your French size.

Four mistakes to avoid

Measuring in the evening. Fingers swell during the day and in warm weather. Measure in the morning instead, at normal temperature, and check again at another time.

Forgetting the knuckle. If your knuckle is wider than the base of the finger, measure at the knuckle: the ring has to go over it.

Ignoring the width of the band. A wide band feels tighter than a narrow one. Above 5 mm wide, allow one size more.

Trusting a ring from another finger. The gap between the ring finger and the middle finger is often two sizes.

If the size is not quite right

Write to us before ordering: we will tell you whether the piece can be resized and at what cost. Not all can be — a ring engraved all the way round, set with stones, or of antique manufacture cannot be resized without damage.

If you have already ordered, our returns policy applies.

To be completed: do you offer resizing? At what price, and for which kinds of ring? Tell me and I will replace this paragraph.
