A dark, heavy fragment, photographed beside a coin that gives the scale.
The Sahara is one of the most productive hunting grounds in the world: the pale ground makes these dark stones stand out, and the dry climate protects them from corrosion. Their density, markedly greater than that of an ordinary stone, comes from their iron and nickel content. The rounded hollows on the surface form as they cross the atmosphere.
Unclassified specimen: it has not been analysed in a laboratory to date. The exact weight remains to be confirmed.
What you should know
Raw specimen, neither cut nor treated. The dimensions are estimated from the reference object visible in the workshop photograph: they are orders of magnitude, not expert measurements.
