A terracotta jar with a wide body and short neck, its surface irregular.
Moroccan ceramics fall into two great traditions: Fez, with its tightly ordered blue and polychrome decoration, and Safi, freer, with greens and browns drawn from local oxides. Antique pieces often carry firing irregularities no longer found in today's production.
Antique piece sold as seen. A small chip or a firing ring is not a fault but a trace of use and of making.
What you should know
Antique object sold as seen. The patina, the wear at the points of friction and the small dents are part of its history: we do not make them disappear. The dating and the attribution are indicative; a formal opinion would require an expert appraisal.
