Large Tuareg cross
Taxes included. Delivery calculated at the next step.
A large Tuareg cross with a wide-open central ring, four thick arms and a tapering lower point.
The cross of the South, known as the cross of Agadez, is traditionally passed from father to son. Each great family and each region has its own variant: the four arms, the central ring and the lower point change proportion from one model to another. It is cast by the lost-wax method, then engraved with a graver.
Antique piece, patinated by wear. The engraving is never perfectly regular: that is what distinguishes workshop craft from modern reproduction.
What you should know
Antique object sold as seen. The patina, the wear at the points of friction and the small dents are part of its history: we do not make them disappear. The dating and the attribution are indicative; a formal opinion would require an expert appraisal.
